Sanyu & Bead for Life

Our pace has been so fast these past days and so, we haven't been able to share all of our adventures with you. Two places that we have visited are the Sanyu Babies Home and Bead for Life. The Sanyu Babies Home is a home for abandoned babies and young children. About 50 children, ages newborn through 4 years, live at the home and are cared for by a very hard-working and dedicated staff plus volunteers. We spent a very active morning volunteering, playing with the babies and feeding them - It was wonderful but very hard work.
Bead for Life was another favorite visit. We at UA have a long friendship with Bead for Life as we have visited them on several occasions and we also include them as a big part of our Global Market. Bead for Life empowers women and helps them to lift themselves out of poverty through a training program which teaches them how to run a business.
