Our two blog entries today come from Lindsey and Kim. Hope you enjoy hearing about what they have done in London so far!
Lindsey:
I've been having so much fun in England so far! Yesterday we went to Harrod's and went shopping on Kings Street after sleeping for 13 hours. Kim, Lilli, Lilli's mom and I went to Covent Garden and watched street performers in Trafalgar Sqaure. Later we had afternoon tea in a boat on the Thames! Lilli and her family have been so nice and welcoming. I've gotten to try two very British dishes already, fish and chips and curry! I can't wait to go to the Tower of London tomorrow!
Kim:
We woke up and it was late in the morning but we went downstairs and had breakfast with the family. Lilli, our host student, and her mom are two of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. After that we went shopping and then went to Trafalgar Square but we didn't know that it was gay pride weekend and the streets were crowded. So we were unable to really see the monuments there but after that we had afternoon tea on the Thames that was so delicious. Then, we walked across the river and saw the London Eye and Big Ben. After that we walked to China Town and then went home. My personal achievement was not getting caught in the underground doors. Today, we also met Lilli's dad who is a doctor that specializes in AIDS treatments. He was extremely nice and then we had curry for dinner. I had never had that before but it was delicious. It was truly an amazing day.
